Meet the Brewmasters

Graham

Graham Kendall - Nova Scotia

Alexander Keith’s Brewmaster team is lead by Brewmaster Emeritus, Graham Kendall.  His Brewmaster Emeritus status recognizes that Graham is the most accomplished Keith’s Brewmaster.

His journey to becoming Brewmaster Emeritus began at Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, where he earned a B.Sc. in microbiology and then completed his Masters in Brewing at Heroit-Watt University in Scotland- one of the few places in the world where aspiring Brewmasters can learn about the fine art of brewing.

Although he has lived in almost every province in Canada, Graham is a Maritimer through and through, having grown up on the East Coast, he now makes his hom there with his family.

As Brewmaster Emeritus, he is trusted with the important task of ensuring each batch of Alexander Keith’s is brewed without compromise.  Last year he successfully supervised the accreditation of our brewery in Creston, British Columbia and he will again do this for the London, Ontario; Montreal, Quebec, and St. John’s, Newfoundland breweries.

Scott

Scott Stokes - Creston, British Columbia

A lifelong British Columbian, Scott obtained a degree in microbiology at Thompson Rivers University where, through a co-op program, he first worked at the Creston brewery. He followed up his degree with certification from The Institute of Brewing & Distilling. Being a Brewmaster can be both challenging and rewarding and Scott takes great pride in his work and feels he is privileged to be able to brew such a great product for Canadians. An avid outdoorsman, one of Scott’s favourite things about working in Creston is being about to enjoy its natural beauty.

Peter

Peter Delamont - Montreal, Quebec

Born  on Vancouver Island in British Columbia and raised in Alberta, Peter has been brewing beer since 1997. His favourite things about working in Montreal are the great team he works with who are passionate about beer and their commitment to ensuring Alexander Keith’s high quality standards are met. In his spare time, he enjoys barbecuing and coaching minor hockey and he stays extremely active by running and playing hockey and golf.

Mark

Mark Hantiuk - London, Ontario

Mark grew up in small-town Alberta and has over 30 years of experience, working at breweries in all regions of the country from St. John’s to Vancouver. He has always taken great pride in brewing the best tasting, highest quality beer available, and personally tastes each and every batch his brewery produces. He is committed to ensuring that Alexander Keith’s always remains a beer brewed without compromise.

Chris

Chris Hesson - St. John’s, Newfoundland

Chris is a born and bred Newfoundlander who has been brewing beer with Labatt since 1995. He has worked in a number of breweries across the country including Creston, Edmonton, Toronto and Halifax. He’s a beer aficionado and he likens the role of Brewmaster to that of a chef who takes great pride in his craft. Chris places utmost importance on quality and is committed to upholding Alexander Keith’s exacting standards.
